Awards for Andrew Maurer A great week for Andy. He received both the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a Fulbright Award to further his studies in Antigua. Way to go Andy!
Grouper Spawning Research Enie Buhler is working with various partners, including Shedd Aquarium, Nassau Grouper 242, and the Bahamas National Trust, to monitor the grouper winter spawning aggregations. A great opportunity for Enie to contribute to a critical conservation effort.
High School Internships It has been our pleasure to host Sophia Walton from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics this fall. She has been contributing to various projects in the lab over the course of the semester.
Congratulations Sean! Sean Giery successfully defended his Ph.D. and has been accepted into a post-doctoral position in Mark Urban's lab at the University of Connecticut. Sad to see Sean go, but a great position with Mark.
